Submission Phase of the Hippodice Competition 2026 Completed
The submission phase for the 35th Hippodice Competition has successfully concluded. We would like to thank all participants for the numerous entries! In total, we received 133 German-language and 195 English-language game ideas.
Most authors come from Germany (131 submissions), but we also received creative ideas from other countries, including the USA (36), Spain (25), and many more. This international diversity shows how exciting and lively the board game scene is.
Next Steps
We have already started the preliminary round: all submitted game descriptions and rules are being reviewed by our Hippodice editors. In this preliminary round, no prototypes are sent in yet – it is initially about evaluating the game concepts and rules.
After the preliminary round is completed, each author will receive a notification indicating whether their submitted prototype has qualified for the main round or not.
